The design maximizes natural light through elliptical openings, O.T.S. courts, and strategic orientation, enhancing brightness and energy efficiency.
Natural light is a key element in this project, seamlessly integrated through elliptical openings, open-to-sky (O.T.S.) courts, and large double-height spaces. These features ensure abundant daylight penetration across all levels, including the basement, reducing reliance on artificial lighting. The strategic orientation of north-facing openings minimizes heat gain while maintaining ample natural illumination, creating a bright, energy-efficient, and inviting living environment.
This inspiration captures a seamless blend of nature and architecture, where soft natural light filters through dynamic structural forms, creating a tranquil and inviting space.
Expansive windows flood the interiors with natural light, seamlessly connecting the indoors with the outdoors. They frame views of lush greenery, fostering tranquillity, sustainability, and a strong connection to nature.
This residence embraces sustainability by prioritizing natural light, ventilation, and eco-sensitive design elements. The elliptical openings in the façade and roof ensure optimal daylight penetration, reducing the need for artificial lighting. Even the basement benefits from natural light through thoughtfully designed O.T.S. (open-to-sky) sunken courtyards.
Larger openings and glazing are placed on the North and East si des to maximize daylight while minimizing heat gain. Solid walls on the South and West protect the interiors, keeping spaces naturally shaded and comfortable.
Design Vision
The design ensures vertical flow, natural light, and seamless functionality with meticulous planning.
Design Process
The design process for this residence focuses on achieving vertical flow, abundant natural light, and seamless functionality, underpinned by meticulous planning.
Central Courtyard Focus
The central courtyard emerges as the heart of the home, fostering a connection to nature, encouraging biophilic design, and serving as a source of light and ventilation.
Maximizing Natural Light
Strategic placements of elliptical cutouts, double-height spaces, and large windows ensure optimal daylight penetration throughout the home, minimizing the need for artificial lighting.
Seamless Vertical Connectivity
Multiple double-height areas and open-plan layouts create a sense of flow, linking spaces vertically and horizontally while blurring boundaries between indoor and outdoor environments.
Precision in Detailing
Given the exposed ceilings and walls, careful integration of services such as lighting, plumbing, and HVAC systems (VRV) was undertaken to ensure both aesthetic harmony and functionality.
This thoughtful approach delivers a home that is both modern and timeless, balancing luxury, sustainability, and livability.
